Getting down low...

It's not exactly an original look but it was certainly fun and one of my favorite from a recent wedding. By the way, the girls here from a June 2009 wedding were several of the same ones from the previous post photograph. This time I was the "official photographer."

The point was to get a shot that is seldom done and to do that, one has to be at an angle or a level that is not often used. I was flat on my back shooting up with an umbrella facing up near the ground held by my assistant. I asked the girls to give me a "mean" look. Well, they did their best. We did a shot at the same angle with smiles. This was still my favorite. If you want to see more of this wedding, look on my website www.barryburgard.com and check out the "wedding fun" section and also the engagement section .

Lesson learned...do something silly - get somewhere you have not been before - don't be afraid to look silly or to get a little dirty. Thanks for looking.

This picture got me started.

I was not "the photographer" for this wedding. This was taken in 2003. The photographer was getting the girls ready when I shot this picture. What has made me curious and interested in this shot was - What were the girls talking about? The facial expression are great and tell a story in themselves.

This lead me to believe that some of the most interesting and best photographs are the ones right before and right after the official photograph was taken.

Next time, you might be the one to capture this picture while I am busy taking the "official" photograph.
